NEW ZEALAND ART Kapitea Ridge offers a variety of West Coast and South Island works from the following New Zealand artists as part of your accommodation experience: Ian Phillips - coppersmith, Kapa Wahine overlooking the garden and coastline and a stunning Copper John Dory Fish. Donald Buglass - Hokitika - Charcoal works "Drawn from Nature Series VII and V" and Gouache works "Belief Series". Pottery and Silk - handpainted plates and hand-dyed silk cushions. Carey Dillon - woodworker, turned Rimu bowls, platters and photographic prints. Tectonic Jade - limestone garden sculpture, Ue Nuku, the oldest known Maori design. Chris Lewis - pottery, dinnerware and door tiles. Sally Patterson - collage work using primary colours with an oceanic theme. Peter Stewart - Richmond - pottery Groper. Katie Gold – pottery. Murray Bowes - Wilderness Wings – Mt Cook photography. Andris Apse – commissioned photography by Kapitea Ridge. Sally Pascoe – art works throughout the lodge. Allan and Mark - stonework by local craftsmen. The Hokitika Live Poets Society - a series of poetry books from local poets depicting West Coast life and our New Zealand villas surroundings. Some of these works are for sale, together with a select range of New Zealand gifts. |
